Buzzing with Divya Suvarna

Hi Divya! Thanks so much for taking time out to talk to Baremelon! To start with, can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Divya Suvarna. I am a designer by profession and illustrator by passion. I am from Mumbai, India. I design for a variety of products, apparel being my favorite in the design sphere. But mostly I enjoy putting on paper my own worlds and visions.

What do you enjoy more: designing, illustrating or taking photographs?

I enjoy illustration the most. I love drawing, so illustrations come naturally to me. Second would be design followed by photography.

Which software and tool is your saving grace?

I work across a variety of softwares depending on what kind of work I want to do. I work on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Paint tool SAI and Corel Painter. For apparel, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are my faves.

Your Baremelon t-shirt design has already become a favorite, name one tee design that you would love to wear from our collection?

My design DJ Bones? :P. Other than that, I would love to wear the Evolution tee :)

Do you have any dream project that you would love to work on?

Yes I do. I love children illustration books that have unusual story lines and interesting styles and characters. I hope to create one someday and possibly publish it too.

How do you use the social networking tools to promote your work?

I keep sharing whatever I create on Facebook. Since I can’t handle too many networking sites, I use Facebook to the fullest. I do have a twitter but I use it sparingly but I do share as much as I can.

What music do you listen to while working?

I listen to music across various languages. I don’t have a particular genre to stick to when working. It depends on what I feel like listening that day.

What is your favorite source of inspiration?

People and their emotions and my mind along with all the art I see in the world.
